Get to know our municipalities
Nature and culture, outdoor life and shopping. Our eight municipalities Bollebygd, Borås, Herrljunga, Mark, Svenljunga, Tranemo, Ulricehamn and Vårgårda have both similarities and differences.
In Bollebygd municipality you have nature on your doorstep, which invites both relaxation and outdoor life. Several large hiking trails run through the countryside, where you can experience nature's different shifts from large forest to open landscape.
The city of Borås is nestled in parks and green areas and with nature around the corner. Rya ridges, for example, which offer 500 hectares of wild nature and breathtaking views. Around the city there is a wreath of open-air farms and clubhouses, good starting points for excursions to forests, lakes and outdoor recreation areas.
Herrljunga station house is like a hub for communication possibilities in Herrljunga. Älvsborgsbanan and Västra stambanan meet here. By high-speed train it takes about two and a half hours to Stockholm, and to Gothenburg about 50 minutes.
There are few municipalities that can match Mark's municipality. We have something as unusual as a strong economy and we are growing on all sides. With the proximity to Borås, Gothenburg and Varberg there are all opportunities to enjoy nature, sea and urban pulse.
Tranemo. Behind the name lies a myriad of small strong communities and villages and a viable business community with many colorful inhabitants. Here you will find the proximity to Borås, Gothenburg and Gislaved, landvetter is a 50-minute distance away.
In Svenljunga you can experience sing-alongs, markets and western days. Welcome to the southernmost municipality in Västra Götaland, close to calm but also to city pulse.
Ulricehamn is a small town and countryside that has found its true self. Who dared to look at himself with his eyes open. Seen its advantages in the form of the close, beautiful, serene and timeless. Who took advantage of the value of being small and pointed.
Vårgårda has a rich association life that is involved in the development of society in the municipality. Among other things, in the non-profit association Destination Vårgårda, where associations, business and municipality work together to develop the tourism industry in the municipality.
