Efficient administration and service in the exercise of public authority
How businesses perceive the municipality as an authority has a major impact on how they feel about being a local entrepreneur. Developing service in the exercise of authority therefore has a direct impact on the local business climate and the development of the municipality. Service in the exercise of authority is about applying democratically established rules and guidelines based on the processes and needs of businesses. Giving businesses the best conditions to achieve the purpose of the rules.
We will end the session with a panel discussion with local officials and politicians.

Anders talks about the developed ambitions of the New Public Administration Act (2019) and other legislation to strengthen both good exercise of authority, advice and service. He also talks about his research on actual administrator roles in Östergötland and how a good balance can be created between legal accuracy and good conditions for companies.

Ulrika supports many Swedish municipalities' processes to build holistic solutions for dialog and collaboration between municipality and business. Designing service processes and building good customer journeys, pilot solutions and understanding the reality based on practical case descriptions and in-depth interviews with entrepreneurs.
