Herrljunga
Herrljunga are winding gravel roads in beautiful nature and at the same time a communication hub at Västra Stambanan and Älvsborgsbanan, close to both Stockholm and Gothenburg.
In Herrljunga there is security, proximity and varied nature. It's good to live here!
The municipality has a large number of successful companies and Herrljunga has for several years placed well in the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise's business ranking, most recently in 11th place out of Sweden's 290 municipalities. An effort to develop fibre networks in rural areas is ongoing, which makes it possible to operate even in smaller towns.
The village schools, with small groups, in the countryside provide children with a quiet and idyllic environment. Altorpsskolan, with about 300 students, is Herrljunga's secondary school, and Kunskapskällan is the small upper secondary school with the great opportunities. It is located in Sweden's top tier in the Open Comparisons of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions.
Herrljunga station house is like a hub for communication possibilities in Herrljunga. Älvsborgsbanan and Västra stambanan meet here. By high-speed train it takes about two and a half hours to Stockholm, and to Gothenburg about 50 minutes. The beautiful station house, built in the 1860s, is now converted and houses a shop, restaurant and several different companies.
We have a varied nature with hiking trails, picturesque communities, bathing areas, fishing lakes and the river Nossan that runs through the municipality. The association life is very strong, and Herrljunga Hembygdsförening was named hometown association of the year in Sweden in 2018.
