Herrljunga
Herrljunga has winding gravel roads in beautiful countryside and is also a communications hub on the Västra Stambanan and Älvsborgsbanan lines, close to both Stockholm and Gothenburg.
Herrljunga offers security, proximity and varied nature. It is good to live here!
The municipality has a large number of successful companies and Herrljunga has been well placed in the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise's business ranking for several years, most recently in 11th place out of Sweden's 290 municipalities. An investment in developing the fiber network in rural areas is underway, which makes it possible to conduct business even in smaller towns.
The village schools, with small groups, in the countryside provide children with a calm and idyllic environment. Altorpsskolan, with around 300 pupils, is Herrljunga's upper secondary school, and Kunskapskällan is the small upper secondary school with great opportunities. It is in Sweden's top tier in the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions' Open Comparisons.
Herrljunga station house is like a hub for communication possibilities in Herrljunga. This is where Älvsborgsbanan and Västra stambanan meet. By express train, it takes about two and a half hours to Stockholm, and to Gothenburg about 50 minutes. The beautiful station building, which was built in the 1860s, has now been rebuilt and houses a shop, restaurant and several different businesses.
We have a varied natural environment with hiking trails, picturesque villages, swimming spots, fishing lakes and the river Nossan running through the municipality. Community life is very strong, and Herrljunga Hembygdsförening was named Sweden's local history association of the year in 2018.
